Corporate Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Strategy scope of work total: $11,750
Phase 1: Research for $7,050
Your client came to you for a reason. There’s work that needs to be done with their current DE&I strategy, so naturally, the first phase of your scope will focus on researching the current landscape of the client’s DE&I efforts.
This is the largest phase of the project — we’re talking *tons* of audits — and each of the deliverables provide immense value. So be sure to itemize every audit, report, and discovery meeting in this part of the scope. As you can see in our scope of work template, we recommend charging anywhere from $600 to $1,500 for each of the audits you conduct. This phase of the scope of work should also include 5-10 stakeholder interviews and each session you hold should be $300.
While this specific scope of work template is designed for a single strategist, you could consider teaming up with another DE&I strategist to split up some of the workload. Just remember to raise the prices so they reflect the value that two strategists bring to the project.
Phase 2: Strategy for $3,200
Using your findings from the first phase, you’ll need to develop a plan of action to help the client set high-level goals and metrics to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion at their company. Articulate these goals in a short briefing document that everyone can agree to and use moving forward.
Depending on the breadth of the goals, you may need to create more than one report. Each report you create for the client should be $800.
Phase 3: Action for $1,500
The work doesn’t end with a report. Now it’s time to help the client implement the DE&I strategy and improve their process going forward. For the last phase of your DE&I strategy scope of work, conduct a workshop to train the team on everything from messaging to unconscious biases to executive enablement. A workshop allows for more hands-on learning and training than a report does, so this is a key element of the project.
