Mobile App Development scope of work total: $8,400
Phase 1: Discovery for $900
Every mobile app development project should kick off with a discovery meeting with the brand team to collect information that will better inform the work.
While our scope of work template labels this as a one-person job, you can easily team up with a fellow full-stack developer to split the work. If you do decide to partner up, be sure to adjust the scope to reflect the expertise and value that two developers bring to a project.
Phase 2: Planning for $3,300
Once you have a clear idea of what the client is looking for and the work it will entail, it’s time to start designing and building. Start by building sitemaps which include high-level overviews of the structure of websites, the different information categories for the site, and how they relate to each other. Our scope of work template recommends charging $900 for one sitemap.
This phase also includes designing wireframes that show the structures of all pages for a website of up to 20 pages. The scope of work template suggests $1,500 for this part, but if you choose to include more than 20 pages in the scope, then increase the price.
Finally, create a high-fidelity, clickable mockup based on mobile app features defined by the client for $900.
Phase 3: Implementation for $1,800
Next, it’s time to build. The implementation phase kicks off by uploading, backing up and storing all source code in a repository. Once that information is safely backed up, you can build the interactive mobile app.
Phase 4: Deployment for $1,500
Ready for deployment! Before your mobile app can be revealed to the world, it has to go through testing and preparation to make sure everything is working as it should. After you prepare and deploy cloud services for mobile application, configure, register and set up for mobile application testing and deployment environment to allow beta testing.
Phase 5: Handoff for $900
Finally, once your mobile app is ready and optimized for use, it’s time to set it up in the app store for your client. The handoff phase includes configuring the app listing in the appropriate app store, making sure everything from the product description to screenshots — once approved by the client — are featured.
